I know this is redundant

I know this isn't a funny subject but.....
Okay, why is it so bad to be a liberal? I proudly am, but for some reason it is like saying you enjoy drowning kitties.
I believe everyone has a right to a happy life, as long as they don't hurt anyone else.
I believe in rehabbing prisoners and giving them skills so they never come back to jail.
I believe in treating others as you want to be treated. Not judge anyone for their background, race, religion, etc.
I believe in all countries observing the Geneva convention. I believe in peaceful solutions to world differences, not by invading countries.
I believe if you claim to be a conservative Christian you need to actually follow Jesus' lead and try to love your enemies and forgive others their trespasses. Jesus stands for love, not war and hatred.
I believe everyone has a right to medical treatments, housing, food and an education. Especially in one of the riches countries in the world.
I could go on and on, but I am so tired of being defensive of wanting peace and a better world for all, instead of bullying the world, all in the misguided assumption that we (Americans) are better than everyone else. Let's start to treat others the way we expect our people to be treated.

the drink carrier

Okay, this always happens to me and it never fails to make me wonder why. Everytime I am at a fast food place or starbucks when I ask for a drink holder, I always get a blank stare, like I have suddenly slipped into an ancient dialect that no one can understand. Why is this always such a surprising question? Seriously, this can't be the first time someone has asked for a drink holder. I always try to make sure my voice is a very friendly conversational level and not aggresive in the least, so it's not that I am being rude or beligerant. Do the holders come out of the employee's wages? Do they get demerits for the amount of drink holders they hand out in a day? Is this a mark against them on their permenant record? Notice next time you order more than one drink and you ask for the holder, you will see the look of confusion, sometimes panic, and finally a defeated "okay".
